With all the media and 3D graphics capabilities available on modern hardware I'd like to see a nice visualisation application that listens to the microphone.

If anyone knows the G-Force winamp plugin they know what I'm talking about.

Such as these?

Ah thanks very much, I hadn't found those. The AudioScope one is getting there but none are anything close to G-Force or Milkdrop or anything like that. I'm sure given time something will appear in the market. These are still handy analysers though! – barrymac Jun 7 '11 at 10:16
Hi, great apps! Any idea if there are open source versions? I need to do something similar in the Android app I'm building (i.e. listen to music via the device's mic and then do something based on the tempo/bpm I get). – Enke Feb 28 '13 at 13:22
@Enke: sorry but I'm not aware if any of them are open source, why not ask in Stack Overflow? – Lie Ryan Mar 1 '13 at 1:50
