I've used Gentle Alarm for quite a long time now, but since the forced update have found that a lot of my settings were lost, and a lot of the more advanced options have now been removed - for example the alarm min / max volume levels.

It kept complaining that my pre-alarm was too loud (I had it set to 50%, which believe me is not loud enough to wake me) so I reduced it, and this morning I slept through the alarm entirely. Could someone suggest a replacement (free or paid) with these features?

  • No forced alarm duration setting - it should sound until I tell it to stop

  • 'Gentle' features like starting off with low volume then steadily increasing over 30-60 minutes

  • Snooze time reduction (start off snoozing for 10 minutes, then 8 minutes, until I'm being nagged every 30 seconds)

  • Confirmation for dismissing an alarm (so I can't just sleepily prod at the screen until it stops)

I have an HTC Hero with Android 2.1

Thanks

I personally like Alarm Clock Xtreme which comes in both free/ad supported and paid for versions.

It does all the functions that you listed as well as additional extras such as math problems to snooze/disable, shake to snooze/disable and a nap alarm with countdown timer

Funny - I actually have that as well. Maybe I haven't played about with it enough (took me a while to find the right settings on Gentle Alarm) so I'll play with it some more. I Thanks – JohnL Jun 16 '11 at 11:04
