I want to do a comparison of different types of configurations of roms kernels etc. What are the best tools that I can use to do this.

I know this cannot be done with one tool, seperate is fine. The Tools that I am using now are as follow:

Rom/kernel: Quadrant Standard Edition, Linpack for Android wifi: wifi-analizer wifi/3g: app

But are these tools good to do benchmarking, or are there other tools that do a better job. I heard that some of the rom/kernels produce fake results for these tools.

"Best" is subjective, and we prefer questions that have the potential for a single, correct answer. What you're likely to get with this question is list of everyone's favorite tools with little helpful information. – Al E. Jul 17 '11 at 21:14
Yeah I am aware that the question is a little subjective, but a list with someone favorite tools would be nice too. An important part could be the arguments supplied with the list of tools. Why he/she thinks it is the best. Should I make it a community wiki, or is that not possible here? – Saif Bechan Jul 17 '11 at 21:53
I have made the post Community Wiki, but that doesn't mean that the question will stick around. – Al E. Jul 18 '11 at 12:26
