Which notepad app would you recommend for Android? (functionality like Notepad on Windows; just plain text editor).

My requirements:

  • lightweight
  • fast loading
  • customizable font
  • quick jump to recent files

I'm not sure if it has all these, but I use Jota Text Editor. Might be worth a look. –  Matthew Read Aug 12 '11 at 19:19
Thanks, you should post this as an answer as it looks really great (no recent docs option as far as I can see) –  takeshin Aug 12 '11 at 20:13

Classic Notes Lite is great for all of these things. It supports multiple fonts, the default menu is recent files, and it is very light and fast. i've been using it for a while now and it's my favorite by far. Lots of good options in the menus too ;)

Thanks, but I'm looking for a file editor. –  takeshin Aug 12 '11 at 19:54
oops, sorry! :P –  jlehenbauer Aug 12 '11 at 21:21

I use Jota Text Editor, though it doesn't appear to have a recent documents feature.

Text Edit works well for me. The main screen's menu has New File, Save, Save As, Open and Recent, with a sensible set of options.
