Most custom ROM-s have problems with Stk.apk (the SIM toolkit part of Android) not functioning properly. The question is not the missing application (running Oxygen, I have the app but it is not working), but something systematic (dependency on RIL?) I'd like to know why so, and what can be made about it?

I would name the new tag (if I could) "sim-toolkit" - this one is used at Stackoverflow. BTW: On my Desire (InsertCoin CM7/STOCK 1.1.2) STK seems to work. – Robert Oct 17 '11 at 11:44
After reading up on this, it seems that Android itself has extremely limited support for this, so it's a case of kicking Google into supporting this – Joe Simpson Oct 17 '11 at 14:48
