I want a simple application that does the above. I have Gingerbread (Nexus S). Anyone have any recommendations?

What differentiates a shopping list app from a note-taking app? If you need more than the latter, e.g. Google Docs or something isn't sufficient, I recommend adding your criteria for the app to the question. – Matthew Read♦ Nov 11 '11 at 2:13

I find OurGroceries pretty good. Syncs to web site and multiple phones so you can share lists with your partner or house mates. Free version has ads but they aren't too over the top.
