I have a GT-P1010. Whenever I leave it for a while it automatically shuts down then the battery drains out and the home button won't work. It's been happening repeatedly.

What timescales are there in between these things happening, minutes, hours, days? I can't really tell, what's the question you're asking here? "Why does it shut itself down when the battery gets low?" "why does the battery drain while it's switched on?" "why does the battery drain while it's switched off?" or something else entirely? – GAThrawn Feb 13 '12 at 13:36
Without more info, it just sounds like your battery needs to be replaced. – Matthew Read♦ Feb 13 '12 at 19:23
