I would like to get a Voice button on my phone and I saw that newer versions of Swype have the Voice button built in. When I switch input methods, the Froyo/Android keyboard has the voice button.

  • Where can I verify that my phone supports that version of Swype, and how do I update my Swype install to get that little microphone button in the lower right?
  • Please indicate if rooting and/or ROM'ing is the only option
