Will using the built-in tethering under Settings --> Wireless and network --> Tethering and portable hotspot incur extra charges on a rooted AT&T Galaxy S2 (SGH-i777)?

I don't remember if the option was available before rooting or if AT&T have some other application that they try to get you to tether through, but I'd rather not be double-charged for capped data service I've already paid for and am not using up otherwise.
