I have got a new mobile phone to replace my HTC Desire. I was pretty happy with the Desire except its memory limitation. Also I used it as my MP3 player.
Now that I still have the device, I am wondering what is the best way to transform this device solely into an MP3 player:

  • what is the best ROM to install in order to:

    1. optimize battery usage
    2. have great MP3 player with support of playlist, collections, album arts
    3. completely disable the phone functionalily
    4. disable WiFi completely (unless support WiFi sync of music)

Any ideas? I even do not know where to start.

I'm not entirely sure if this question is good fit here. You're asking for best rom and music player which are both subjective. I would say just install the rom that you used previously and put the phone into airplane mode. – Richard Borcsik Mar 30 '12 at 21:17
Fair enough, it might be somewhat subjective. In which case, what is the most minimalistic ROM available? – van Mar 31 '12 at 20:15
@RichardBorcsik: airplane mode sounds cool though - will try and see how long will the battery last... Thanks. – van Apr 2 '12 at 11:03
