I use Kindle, but I bought a programming book once and the code samples are displayed as images. Since my phone is tiny, the images are worthless and almost all of them cut off so I can't see the code.

Are there any book reader apps that support image zoom? If so, do that have a limited book selection or will it be similar to buying my Kindle books on Amazon? I found another programming/math book I want to buy to read on my phone, but it's expensive and I don't want to go through the same thing as before.

The most recent version of the kindle app now supports image zoom. Update it and check it out.

Aldiko allows you to zoom in on images with a long press, however, it doesn't do DRM'd books. O'Reilly Media sells non-DRM'd programming books so you may be able to find what you need but you will definitely not have the selection you get with Nook or Kindle. It's unfortunate that those too are lagging so far behind in the usability of their ereader apps.
