Is there an Android app like this, or an easy way to make an arbitrary app accessible while the device is locked?

For those who are not familiar with it, WebOS Exhibition mode activiates automatically when the device is placed in a dock and displays dedicated apps like a screen saver or clock. As far as I can tell, the only major difference from the Android dock mode is that WebOS lets you switch between dock apps without unlocking the device, whereas Android just displays one app.

The device on which I'm interested in doing this is actually an HP Touchpad dual-booting CyanogenMod 9. Android runs much more smoothly, even the CM alpha, but I'd still like to let my friends look things up without having to unlock the device for them.
