I am wondering if there is a way to disable the highlight search while I am dialing a new phone number in Android 4? I used to have Android 2.3.4 and this was a lot quicker. It did not go through searching the number I am dialing in my contacts.

So far, I have not found any solution to this!

I am looking for very simple dialers on Google Play. But they are all "Speed Dialers" literaly and this is not what a want! Also. when I search for "classic dialers", I see applications that only change the design, but searching / highlighting is still there.

Removing contacts logs does what it's supposed to do: It clears my phone calls (outcoming and incoming). After I do this, and try dialing it does this again?!

I find it very disturbing. It is ok for a small list of contacts. But what happens when you have over 70 contacts?! My phone becomes slow. I'd like to remove this feature but on my mobile phone I don't find any option of doing this.

By the way: I have a Sony Xperia Arc with Android 4.0.4. I tried installing Go Contacts dialer in hopes of solving my problem but it did not solve it. (It seems this is a native OS 4.0 feature) :-(

If anyone knows, please tell me.
