I am trying an experiment and I need to wear down my Droid Incredible's battery as fast as possible. What apps are known battery hogs? I've already beaten Angry Birds so that one is off the list for the time being.

Enable your GPS and use navigator to some location you are not going to that is far away. Then watch a movie on your phone with brightness on max.

This will get the job done.

Watch a movie with full brightness, download a large file, while enabling wifi tethering (this is a great battery drain), GPS, bluetoth and wifi at the same time.

If you know some basic programming, you can write an application that just do some random calculations (e.g. calculating primes, factorials, or even folding proteins), request CPU lock, prevent screen from turning off, turn on GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi, turn on vibrators, record videos, etc.

In order to drain your battery just run something CPU-intensive like video playback. If you want to wear the battery out (make it lose capacity permanently) you need to follow the guidelines for prolonging the battery lifetime but in reverse - cause deep discharges and mildly overheat the battery.

no, overheating is one aspect of damaging your battery permanently. The OP only want to wear the battery out to 0%, he does not want his battery to lose its full capacity. – Lie Ryan Nov 15 '10 at 10:56
@Lie Ryan: Okay, but "wear out" usually means to lead the battery into the same condition as where the battery ends up when it gets older which includes losing capacity. Bringing to 0% is usually called "draining". Anyway good you mention this - such misunderstanding can be costly. I edited the answer and hope it is now clearer. – sharptooth Nov 15 '10 at 11:01

Just play The Elements. A very cpu intensive game. If you add a lot of stuff to make the simulation very slow, you are sure to use the cpu on full. Meanwhile you could use GPS fix to constantly use your GPS. And you could leave your Bluetooth on. All this at the same time (especially with the SGS2 & Cyanogenmod) you might end up using more power than your phone can recharge.
