I am an app developer and I have a paid app. I'd like to give one free copy to a specific person. Is this possible to do, and if so, how?

The only way to currently do it is to give them a copy of the apk. Just make sure they don't pass it around or leak it. You can't gift apps in the Android market or give promo codes.

Yeah, "gifiting" or discounting is a sorely-needed feature. In the meantime, also be sure to strip out any LVL calls for your gift version, and you'll probably need a way to get any subsequent updates to them, too, since the Market won't be able to manage those for them. – Blumer Apr 20 '11 at 21:52
