Android Enthusiasts Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for enthusiasts and power users of the Android operating system. It's 100% free, no registration required.

This link won't open in Chrome, even if it's the default browser. Better put, it does open when clicked on, but then in a moment the stock browser opens and displays the page, while Chrome is left with an empty one.

What can cause such behaviour?

Note:
Even if you don't have an answer for this, can you please try to reproduce this behavior? I'm interested if it's specific to this device.

If relevant the device is an HTC One S running Android ICS 4.0.3.

On both my phone, and desktop Chrome browsers this link starts a download of the html file instead of displaying it. Sounds like an issue with the site itself. – Chahk Oct 15 '12 at 16:36
I see the same as Chahk. I think the stock browser must be opening the file that Chrome downloaded ... you may need to set Chrome as the default HTML viewer if that's possible. I'm going to close this question, if you have trouble with my suggestion or anything that's not specific to misconfigured sites please feel free to ask another question! – Matthew Read Oct 15 '12 at 17:03
True, it's downloading the site, sorry about not checking that on desktop, with my 1 reputation it could seem like I'm up to something nasty. – ggPeti Oct 15 '12 at 17:53
