TLDR:

Someone texted me while my phone's date is not correct, so the SMS sorted way back. Is it possible for Android to record SMS dates based on Network date instead of local?

Long version:

The date now is OCT 16, 2012, I hard-reset my phone and my date was not correct during boot (i.e., SEP 29, 2012). I know this is normal when hard-resetting phone.

My issue is, before my date got corrected, someone sent me an SMS and it got in, and it recorded SEP 29, 2012 as date received.

BTW, it took me awhile to figure that out because the SMS will not appear as first message, it's buried deep to the SEP 2012 block of messages. So I actually thought the message is missing. I had to use mutant powers to figure out that the SMS was just buried somewhere in the archives. I imagine if this happened to a novice user, they will think the SMS was gone forever.

My question now is, is it possible for Android to record SMS dates based on Network date instead of local?
