I have an HTC T-Mobile my touch 4G

An example is on the site readanybook.com, you can sign up and read all kinds of books, but when it asks you to DL it that message shows up. I can hit dl and it does download it but if i go back to it and click on it in my phone it says cannot open file. in a little black box! I have been searching for an answer.

Also I have got the HTC UPCT Loader icon also called HTC Sync which does not work. When I plug my phone in it just tells me to plug it in my usb port which it already is but doesnt acknowledge it. ANYTHING ANYONE PLEASE! I have a T-mobile

Hint: When the file is downloaded, take a file manager (such as ES File Explorer) and check the file's name. I know this problem with e.g. eBooks downloaded with the (stock) browser: they always get the extension .htm added like in ebook.epub.htm. If that's the case for you, a work-around is to simply rename the file (and remove the additional extension). Besides: For book reading I recommend Moon+ Reader (built-in catalog with many books). – Izzy Nov 21 '12 at 7:08
