A very strange display problem appeared on a Samsung S1 phone. The display looks wired,with vertical lines all over it, and the colors sometimes look like 16 color display as if it was a 80's PC. This also happens in download mode and recovery mode. It started after flashing a ROM. I was wondering if it has to do with the kernel. Does the kernel even start on download mode? On non samsung devices, is the kernel required for fastboot to run?
