Gesture typing is the act in which you type by swiping from key to key, instead of pressing each key in turn.

Gesture typing was added to the stock Android keyboard in Android 4.2.

Before this, the Swype keyboard had this same feature, and works with most Android versions.

Gesture typing allows the user to swype from key to key, and the keyboard will then work out what word the user was attempting to type, instead of the user pressing each key in turn.
