My Contacts and Phone icons are missing from my primary shortcuts bar. I can't restore from the Edit in the app drawer since they don't show there. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

(Samsung Galaxy Note)

Rooted? Custom ROM? – Al Everett Apr 3 at 12:16
"Contacts" may instead be "People". – Al Everett Apr 3 at 12:18

Try deleting your launcher data from settings:

In your app drawer (the main one), you should see them. You can then long press and drag them to the main bar at the bottom.

thanks for the reply but this is the problem: neither Contacts nor Phone icon shows in my app drawer. – preston Dec 8 '12 at 12:07
@preston In any app drawer? Please reboot, and check again. Did it come with these apps? Is it a phone or tablet? – Liam W Dec 8 '12 at 12:08
its a galaxy note running stock ICS, rebooted, they are still missing. In your first reply u said 'the mail one', did u mean 'main one'? – preston Dec 8 '12 at 12:13
I tried to restore them via the blue Applications button, Edit (in grid view), then drag and drop. Works fine with other apps but Contacts and Phone don't show there. – preston Dec 8 '12 at 12:17
But can you see Contacts and Phone anywhere else? If so, just drap and drop - no need to enter edit mode (long press on icon). – Liam W Dec 8 '12 at 12:35
