Is it possible to replace and/or upgrade components within the phone to make it faster? Just like a laptop, a phone has a processor and memory, so in theory I should be able to upgrade these, correct? If so, what would be the process in doing so? What kind of limitations would I have to be concerned about?

The answer is no, hardware is soldered and packed into such tight space constraints in terms of size of printed circuit board etc. The only thing upgradeable is the SDCard, that's about it! – t0mm13b Dec 27 '12 at 20:26
