Is there an easy way to check the firmware version (not Android version)?

How about in Settings > About Phone? My Galaxy S2 has it there. – geffchang Jan 2 '13 at 11:23

You can use either the way geff_chang suggested or use android service menus

In the service menu, it is located at Software info -> Phone info

You can always use third party apps as well.

It's a tablet so the service menu won't work – Casebash Jan 2 '13 at 12:48
@Casebash see the edit. – Sid Jan 2 '13 at 13:32
That app certainly gives very detailed information, but I can't see the firmware version anywhere – Casebash Jan 2 '13 at 20:55
go to app -> select system tab -> click Buildinfos The firmware version is what's called as the Id – Sid Jan 3 '13 at 0:33
