I have Sony Xperia Tipo. I connected to the WiFi at my college. But even after connecting I am unable to access the internet. What is the problem?

They could have been using proxy. You have to set the proxy settings in that case. – LifeH2O Jan 14 at 15:19

In colleges they usually use proxy server to connect to internet. Ask them and set the proxy in Wirless settings in your phone.
