Android Enthusiasts Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for enthusiasts and power users of the Android operating system. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have tried everything I can think of.

  1. There is a script that is supposed to use Statefright to play the audio at boot time=FAIL
  2. There is an updater-script that creates a binary to call the script at boottime=FAIL
  3. I have scoured the logcats in realtime for any mention of boot audio=FAIL. The only thing in the logcat is "I/PowerManagerService( 362): Boot animation finished". Great I know it finished but what called it in the first place?
  4. '/system/bin/bootanimation' is the binary that starts the boot animation but what stops it? If I run this in terminal emulator the boot animation starts but does not stop

Please check out this forum at Cyanogen Mod for the scripts I would have posted them here but they are too long
