I have a problem. I would really like to be able to stream music all over my house and be able to control all of this from my phone.

I have: An android phone (galaxy nexus) An android stick (minix G4) with HDMI out to my stereo receiver A windows pc A WD Live NAS drive

I would like: To be able to play music from my phone (either Pandora, etc or music stored on the NAS/PC/Phone) to the android stick. Hopefully I'd like to set up other android/stereo combos in other rooms and have them stream the same audio at the same time. I'm pretty much looking to set up multiroom audio streaming using android and hopefully be able to stream both my networked music as well as pandora/something similar.

I've tried a bunch of things (plex/xmbc was the most promising) so far and none have worked. I'm assuming that no such service exists outside of proprietary solutions like casatunes or that I'm not smart enough to figure this out.

I'm open to using any combination of the devices listed (ie. streaming pandora from phone/pc and streaming mp3s from NAS) above to get this done and willing to accept limited functionality as long as I can control the audio playing across multiple devices with my phone.

Thank you!

Have you thought about using VLC as a streaming server? Using a VLC android app, there's a few on the play store, such as VLC Beta – t0mm13b Feb 22 at 23:33
