We have a WiMAX Internet provider that requires that you have a specific adapter, being Huawei BM622. Do you think it is possible to tweak the firmware on any phone or laptop and connect to the Internet?

Is it not doable to change the reported adapter name and other authentication data and connect?

no it is not doable. Also this should be asked on electronics stackexchange not here. It is unrelated to android. – forums Mar 4 at 9:02
While the tweaking itself is not related to Android, the process of tweaking is. That's why I would say it's on-topic. – Flow♦ Mar 4 at 10:09
