How can I find information on the hardware of my Android device like processor architecture, RAM, etc?

Android System Info is a free app from the market which will tell you more details about your phone than you ever wanted to know. It has all the details you want about your CPU and Memory and much much more.

Install it, start the app and check the System tab for all the information you are looking for.

Can you link me to the APK package? For some reason, the apps I can access from the Market is quite limited - there isn't even a simple Terminal. I'm missing many of applications I saw online. – Oxwivi Feb 25 '11 at 10:25

@Matthew, it's an interesting app, though the app that I'm looking for is free, thanks! In any case, I already found the APK file of the app with a little Googling. I shale try it out and accept this answer if it solved my problem. – Oxwivi Feb 25 '11 at 16:46

Click on "Menu -> DevTools". Click on "Terminal Emulator".

Enter command: cat /proc/cpuinfo

cat /proc/meminfo

free

cat /proc/version

If there are no dev tools one can install a terminal Emulator Form the play store: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm – ce4 Sep 8 '12 at 13:43

Check the manufacturer's website or hit up a gadget database like GDGT.

Quadrant also has system information available within the app. Open it up, tap "System information" displays a list of CPU/GPU and other hardware specs. – thunsaker Mar 1 '11 at 15:28

I'd think a simple web search with the name of your device and "specs" should return all of the information you need. There are any number of sources of this information on the Web.

Settings -> About Phone should tell you most of what you want to know. Failing that, it will at least tell you a model name which you can then search google for more info.

My 'About Phone' lists Model, CPU info (i.e. what CPU) and Memory info among other things. But I am running CM7 with Gingerbread.

This section on my device (Chinese aPad) only mentions memory size, firmware, kernel version and build number. Model number is also mentioned, but it only says generic. – Oxwivi Feb 25 '11 at 10:06

@oxwivi No one has any way of knowing what you already know or don't know. You already know about Settings > About phone so you think it's an obvious place to look. A user who isn't familiar with that option might find what they're looking for there. We can build a better community if we assume the best of other users! – Amanda Mar 21 '11 at 13:12
