You can only zoom without multitouch in Reflow Text mode, sadly. Menu -> View Mode -> Reflow Text and then hit the T+ button that pops up when you tap the screen.

At Adobe Reader click on top part of screen, then you will see top toolbar. At toolbar you need 4 button from right corner of toolbar.
