Go to Settings -> Security -> Lock screen -> Improve face matching. You will need to confirm your PIN, and then follow the on-screen directions to capture your face again. After each successful capture you will be placed back to the Lock screen settings menu, so just keep going into the Improve face matching section to repeat the process as many ...

The HTC Sensation uses a capacitive touchscreen, so any standard capacitive stylus will work for touch-based input. Simply be sure you don't purchase a stylus designed for a resistive touchscreen.

As discovered here, HTC have removed the link to the training option in the settings menu. However, the actual feature remains intact so I have created a quick app to access it. Please note that we don't know why HTC took it out, they may have had a very good reason and I could be meddling, however I have used the training feature successfully on my ...

You cannot uninstall the PlayStore/GoogleMarket app without having your device rooted -- so as Shedo guessed, you probably just uninstalled the latest update. Which means, the original app included with your firmware takes over -- and probably is called "Market" (the original name of the Playstore, before some market specialists started toying with the ...

Android 3.x is reserved for Tablets, and so would never be running on an actual phone. As for 4.x, it's basically a waiting game. If there have been assurances from HTC that the update will eventually be available for your phone, you'll just have to wait until your phone tells you it's available. The only way to speed things up would be to monitor the ...

There are some "lock screens" like Go Locker, but they are not "real" lock screens. Lock screens are just about the only part of the android OS that cannot be replaced by 3rd party applications. These other lock screens attempt to override the real lock screen. Some of them work fairly well, but I always notice some type of lag when turning on the device or ...

A lot of the recent HTC phones can take screenshots if you press Lock and Home at the same time, that may be what you're doing by accident. As previously stated, the Google+ app by default backs up your pictures to a (private) online album for easier sharing. This can be turned off entirely, or configured to only sync on wifi (to save your data allowance) ...

Just search on the Google Play store for "custom locale", there are a couple of apps that will allow you install a LOT of languages. I tried many times on different devices and Android versions, sometimes some menus or apps do not change the language, but on average it's OK. Example applications in Play store: MoreLocale 2 Set Locale and Language But ...

A quick google search revealed what I was expecting. It seems it's not that easy to add a new language to the OS if it's not done by the manufacturer. So best thing you could hope for is an update by HTC. Manufacturers often install software kids on top of the android shipped out by Google. If this is not an option installing different keyboard ...

I have diagnosed several battery related anomalies with a combination of two apps: one called Diagnosis and the other GSam Battery Monitor Pro. GSam isn't as robust but it offers a greater filtering options to sort the culprits by CPU usage, power usage, memory usage.... In every case it turned out to be a problem with an app or a setting or my current ROM ...

Having had no better suggestions I did try a factory reset and it seems to have resolved the problem entirely, indeed the phone 'feels' new. Whilst it is annoying, it's been over a year since having the phone and it only took about an hour to factory reset and restore important files, so it's not the worst solution out there.

Do this: Boot into Recovery Wipe cache Wipe Dalvik cache Wipe them again Install your ROM The first successful boot afterwards is going to take a while, as it is rebuilding Dalvik cache. If you are not boot looping here, just let it go for a long while. If it boots a while and reboots, wait some more.

I don't know for sure, but think changing internal partition layout can only be done on special development devices with the security turned off (called s-off). The problem of running out of space on the internal data partition has been solved by many custom ROMs that can be installed after using the official HTC unlock process, however. These custom ROMs ...

I found the answer quicker than I thought I would, it turns out I was using the wrong firmware version. You need to check the ROM that the firmware is for, and apply it after the ROM is installed. So my ROM is Sensation_3.32.401.5_deodexed Which meant I should've chosen (from here): Firmware from 3.32.401.x & 3.32.401.10x RUU --- MD5 checksum: ...

From the Sony Ericsson website, the Live View specs page has no mention of a compass, gyroscope, accelerometer or similar. It doesn't mention anything about speakers either but does mention controlling phone calls and music playback on your phone, which would suggest its not designed to make noise itself but to control the music/sound on a phone (or other ...

Yes, this is possible without apps. The icons on the lockscreen are the same ones that you chose for the home screen: Here you see the icons I originally had on both screens: By changing the apps on my home screen adjacent to all apps, this change is mirrored on the lock screen: To change the icons adjacent to all apps on your home screen, long-press ...
