You cannot select which contacts to sync, but you can limit which groups are visible in the Contacts/Dialer apps: In the Contacts app go to Menu -> Display options. Under the "Choose contacts to display" section, tap on the arrow next to your Gmail account to expand it. Uncheck all groups except "System Group: My Contacts" and tap the "Done" button. ...

Rooting the Atrix 4G does only that - gives you elevated privileges on stock OS. In order to be able to install a different recovery image and custom ROMs, the phone's bootloader must be unlocked first. This is a fairly complicated process that carries the usual warnings and disclaimers of modifying phone software. It will most definitely void your ...

i had the same issue with screen not coming to live after proximity sensor has turned it off once. I tried to boot in safe-mode and the phone is working perfectly and there is no such issue in safemode. I know this is not permanent solution (there must be some limitations of safemode, though i have no idea about them), but it atleast points us that this is ...

You will need to do this at the same store where you purchased the handset. I have the exact same problem with my new Atrix. Unfortunately (for me) I unlocked its bootloader, so AT&T is refusing ...

No other "unlocking service on the Internet" will be able to help you. "Wiping the radio" option (i.e. flashing incompatible baseband processor software, so it would ...

Unlocking the bootloader performs a factory-reset on the phone, deleting all the user data. It doesn't wipe the ROM. If you're just trying to back up the stock ROM before flashing (a sensible precaution), then you can safely do that after unlocking the bootloader. If you want to back up your user data (i.e. installed apps and their data, contacts, etc.), ...

I had the Force Close problem the error was "The process com.motorola.service.main has stopped unexpectedly please try again". Motorola support couldn't solve it so they had me send it for repair. Sent it to them 2X. When i got it back the 3rd time still had the problem so Motorola provided a replacement phone. When i received the replacement the problem ...

If you are rooted, disable your Proximity Sensor in a call. To do so, add following line to /system/build.prop file: gsm.proximity.enable=false. If you don't use Proximity Sensor other than in call, you can disable it fully. To do so, use Hardware Disabler app. But, make sure you have selected correct driver of proximity sensor, otherwise you will brick ...
