Voice over IP (VoIP) is a name describing a range of technologies that enable voice communications over the internet, and private networks. Commonly VoIP software includes Skype and is also included in many instant messenger clients such as MSN Messenger, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger and AIM and is used by other services such as Google Voice. Many Android phones running Gingerbread or newer can use the built-in SIP VoIP service.
