@Derek朕會功夫 A factory reset would remove any cruft left over from other programs. Pretend you install an app I wrote, but I am a terrible app writer. My app leaves files and system calls laying around that don't get deleted even when my app is uninstalled. If you had installed my hypothetical crAPPy program, used it for a couple weeks and then realized it was terrible and deleted it, it would still have negatively impacted your phone performance. Multiply that by dozens of apps over 2 years... Even if for whatever reason you kept my app, the factory reset would delete the cruft it wasn't.

comment How can I get to Settings if there is no physical settings button?
A little bit of search reveals this button is the "Action Overflow" button. Generally three dots, or three dash... sometimes referred too as the Hamburger Button. And @AfzaalAhmadZeeshan apps totally change which buttons they display depending on which physical buttons exist... some better than others though.
