comment How to refresh a web page in Chrome (Ctrl+F5 analogue) on a device without menu button?
This question has much better answers on StackOverflow (which goes to show how over-splitting the community doesn't help; Android is close enough to programming that it's not worth making a separate site for; Chemistry vs. Math - sure.)

comment Why do so many applications try to get the SIM and network operator name?
@Izzy: would it be possible that some app building IDE generates boilerplate code that makes those calls regardless of what the app does?

comment What can an app do with the “USE ACCOUNTS ON THE DEVICE” permission?

Included the "Almost" clause to respect the spirit of the message but stay factually accurate

comment Why do so many applications try to get the SIM and network operator name?
@Firelord: not at all? I'm asking why apps would be interested in the SIM operator's name. Why would MyFitnessPal care I'm using AT&T or Verizon, when the app could be running just fine on a Wi-Fi only device?

@beeshyams: my question is more specific than the one you pointed to, which itself is a dupe.
