Also, may I suggest revoking account access to EVERYTHING, then re-adding one by one?

Does anyone have physical access to your device? And do you have a lock code of some sort set?

comment Custom Boot animation is not working in Android Jelly Bean
What device do you have? Reading that link it seems there are limitations on some devices. Also, have you unzipped the original boot animation to see that yours looks similar?

comment How do I get play store to stop asking me to auto-update on wifi?
I had some updates last night and no recurrance of the issue. The A200 is wi-fi only (which is, I assume, why I don't have a wi-fi only setting), and I'm suspecting that the auto update state got screwed up somehow. Then, when I went into the menus looking for how to turn it off before posting, I ended up forcing it into the true 'do not auto-update' state.

comment How can I stop my phone sending an SMS every time I insert a SIM card?
Have you followed the debugging steps used in that post? Install RL Permissions and see what apps ave permission to send SMS, and then which apps can start at boot. The culprit is likely one of the applications that has both permissions.

comment Will rooting my phone improve its battery life?
@DanW - with most phones that I've seen, the biggest factors in battery life are how much you use it and how you have the screen brightness set. You can mess around with the cpu clock frequency and and tweak to your heart's content and you'll perhaps gain a percent or three, but unless that's your hobby, it's not worth the bother - it won't get you a meaningful increase in runtime.

comment Will bootloader unlocking provide access to all the apps in the Play Store?
One caveat - if you over-ride device restrictions, don't be surprised if the app has problems. There's a lot of reasons a dev might restrict an app to not run on particular devices. If it works for you, great, but don't get upset if it doesn't.
