comment How to make packages from f-droid to be treated as from a “known source” (if I have root)?
So, should I try a new f-droid or new CM for this feature?

Yes, it's really a pity that--accordig to your description--it's not possible to set a human-friednly hostname, just to do ssh MY-ANDROID.local!..

comment SSH (and SFTP) server on Android discoverable through avahi/bonjour
Thanks alot for the information! Now at least I know of one possibility to set this up. I prefer to use free software (= libre, open-source). Should I consider SSHelper then?.. (I don't know yet whether it is free software.)

Actually, if you don't like the idea of writing a configuration file for hostapd, the popular NetworkManager tool also supports managing an AP now, but this is not available through its GUI tools; it requires a manual tweak in its configuration file for mode=ap. Reference in Russian: altlinux.org/…

comment How to flash a custom recovery with heimdall (without touching the main system)?
But what if I destroy the original OS when flashing the custom recovery? In my case, I flashed a custom recovery, but the OS doesn't boot after that... swhat could go wrong? That is something I didn't expect: I just wantee to flash a custom recovery, but do not install a new main OS. Now I'm forced to do that.

comment Can't transfer file from Ubuntu to Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1
That's the way to do it, but the real problem with Galaxy Tab seems to that this option is absent in the settings -- very confusing! According to the answers above, USB debugging should be turned on for it to appear.
