comment What does the voice privacy setting do?
"In other words, turn the feature off, and don't worry about it." -- what's the disadvantage of leaving it turned on?

comment Looking for a lightweight replacement for stock DeskClock.apk?
You cannot add or remove any icons to/from the drawer with most launchers including ADW. There should automatically be a shortcut for every application on your phone in the drawer. If you want to customize your shortcuts, use the home screens for that. With LauncherPro, however, you can actually hide icons from the app drawer.

comment Child-proofing an Android phone?
Also, I don't like the idea of getting a child used to general-purpose computers being technically restricted from the start.

comment Child-proofing an Android phone?
If the main purpose is to call the parents, don't you think a smartphone is overkill? I can imagine situations where you would like the child to have a computer on the go but since you are OK with having only phone functionality, a dumbphone might be more appropriate. Also, they're more reliable due to their longer battery life.

@Fitoschido So the fonts are free but there are other versions of them that are not.

comment Remove CWM from Xperia Neo V
This is the app that I used to install CWM: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pvy.CWMinstaler -- it advertises that it works with a locked bootloader in the first sentence.

comment Remove CWM from Xperia Neo V
If it is actually possible to unlock the bootloader from software -- and not using Sony's official method -- then it may be unlocked. As I said, I don't remember the actual rooting method I used. When I have time I will try to flash an unofficial kernel to check if the bootloader is still locked.

comment Remove CWM from Xperia Neo V
My bootloader isn't actually unlocked which is why I can't use custom ROMs. I'd like to keep it this way for the time being in order not to loose the warranty.

I should add that I'm running ICS and the people I have asked who have Gingerbread cannot connect at all either.

I didn't even mention a factory reset. In particular, a factory reset doesn't affect the SD card.

comment Reason SD cards come FAT formated instead of Fat32?
The reason could have been that Android doesn't support FAT32, for example.

comment To add widgets from the app drawer, launchers need to be installed in /system. Why?
This is not a feature request, this is a question why something is impossible.

comment Is it safe to swap SIM cards when the phone is turned on?
I can't imagine how hot-swapping could even work as long as the cellphone system is turned on. Maybe hot-swapping works in airplane mode?

Seriously? What about those who live in a "foreign" (relative to them) country but still want to use their phone in the mother tongue?

comment See Youtube videos in Anaglyph mode
If you find a way to get to the desktop version of YouTube, you may be able to do this by using the flash video player. But that seems to be not all that easy.

comment What are “.spmo” files in “dcim/spmo” directory on my SD card?
I would assume that the stock apps use them, at least. If displaying images is handled by a system library -- and I would be surprised if it weren't -- probably most apps would use them.
