comment Where are Android settings stored?
All of those directories require root access to write to.

comment Which specific storage space is low, when getting “Low Space” on Samsung Galaxy S?
+1 - Excellent answer. Many HTC phones also used a /datadata partition for app data. Facebook (especially the Sense version) is another app that will use lots of space.

comment Turn off phone by holding the power button?
Some phones also have a key combination to force a hard reboot. On my HTC Incredible it's Power + Vol Down + Optical Joystick Button. Others may vary. Please edit your question with your phone's make and model and someone might be able to give you a more specific answer.

comment Can I convert a system app to a user app, uninstall it, or move it to my SD card?
As a rule of thumb, anything distributed through the Play Store should work just fine as a user app. Do system apps have greater permissions than other apps though? I didn't think that they did.

comment Why is “insufficient storage” wrongly reported when installing an .apk via adb?
Maybe this: android.stackexchange.com/questions/14731/… I don't think the Incredible is the only HTC phone with that particular issue.

comment Can I remove the .nomedia file from Google Music downloaded music folder?
This is also useful only if the tracks have no DRM on them that prevents other players from using the files.

comment Using Moto Droid Car Charger with Samsung Galaxy Nexus
@NoBugs: There's a USB Charging Standard for going over the standard 500mA max load (900mA for USB 3.0), though Apple is still using their own standard. Pretty much every other modern smartphone should be using the USB Battery Charging Standard though.

@BryanDenny: Only if the device is rooted. In which case, it might also be possible to remove the built-in browser.

comment Is there a way to make my HTC-Incredible phone use the optical joystick button to wake up?
@Broam: No doubt that different phones will have different behavior. This question is specific to the HTC Incredible, but I'll update my answer to make that part clear.

comment Factory reset to restore performance? What are the disadvantages?
Call Logs are also not restored. If you want to keep those, you'll need a way to backup/restore them.

comment Pandora pauses randomly?
I think it's a bug with their Android client. I have the same problem -- it even happens on my home WiFi! When I use my desktop or laptop systems (website or AIR app) it's fine.

comment Pandora pauses randomly?
@Joe: They don't need to, a store could simply use femtocells to make sure that the signal is very strong in their store and able to handle the load of a concentration of phones (for both display models and customer's phones). It'd be a pretty underhanded thing for them to do if the area's signal was otherwise poor though.

comment Moto Droid v1 disabling primary Wireless AP
My wife's Droid 1 has problems connecting to our AP too. Sleep Policy is set to "Never", but that hasn't helped. Happens on all of the stock ROMs, CyanogenMod, and Sapphire.

comment Is it normal for Android System to be the top battery user?
Those seem to be awfully high numbers for Cell Standby and Phone Idle too -- what's your signal strength like? Being in an area with poor reception can cause your radios to use a lot of extra power.

comment Why are some songs are not named correctly in media players?
It's not that strange once you start to see the mishmash of different tagging pseudo standards. Between ID3v1, ID3v1.1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, and APEv2 it's bad enough. Then you have the differences between how different players use those tagging standards to store information. Add in the various tag parsing, writing, and codepage bugs and hacks in different players over the years, and it's amazing that any info can be passed between programs at all.

comment Does the HTC Droid Incredible Ship with Android 2.2 (Froyo)?
2.2 has been out long enough, and the device is popular enough, that any new Incredible that the OP orders is going to ship with 2.2. In fact, I think that all SLCD Incredibles (which the OP will get) are 2.2.

comment Is a Class 10 MicroSD overkill or is a Class 6 adequate?
This, of course, assumes that the phone can actually take advantage of the additional performance. Other bits (controller, CPU, etc.) might end up becoming bottlenecks or reduce the utility of a Class 10 card. It might be more useful for the OP to get a larger card instead of a faster one.
