Battery percentage going down while charging! @SSumner even when plugged into a wall charger, this could easily happen (see my answer here). A wall-charger usually delivers up to 2A; tethering + download + screen on easily comes to the same power consumption. |

/data partition corrupted? I'm not 100% certain, but to me that sounds like trouble with the equivalent to "bad blocks", so formatting gets stuck due to write errors/locks or the like (I'm not that deep into low-level storage modifications). If you can watch logcat parallel to that process (e.g. using adb logcat while in CWM), that might give you some additional clues. |

/data partition corrupted? If you really talk about formatting (and not simply wiping) which fails, I'm afraid that might rather be a hardware issue, and the memory chip got corrupted. |

Device not booting after factory reset Have you tried taking out the battery, and keeping it out for about a minute before placing it back? |

Remove files from phone that won't boot Not an answer, rather thinking aloud: Does it succeed to boot in any mode (recovery, fastboot) that makes it accessible for flashing? Then, maybe, only maybe, you could flash a custom recovery. I never tried, and don't remember the name currently, but there was one including a file manager, or the file manager could be flashed separately. If that would succeed, you could use that to copy your important files from the device to a card, and then take the card and attach it to your PC using a card reader. |

Reinstall OS on GT-S5830i A factory-reset is supposed to help here, yes. And you also assumed correctly that it would delete all your data (except that on SDCard), so you would need a good backup before -- for the stuff you want to keep, that is. |

Something wrong with my Samsung Galaxy Tablet 2 7.0 GT-P3100 @AneeshKarthikC especially if it's really Cupcake - Froyo #D (sorry, couldn't resist: but Cupcake/Donut/Eclair/Froyo/Gingerbread where never shipped with this device, which originally came with ICS -- see its tag-wiki. But right, the Android version might give a clue -- even if we can restrict it to ICS/JB :) |

Reinstall OS on GT-S5830i You need to get yourself a fitting ROM (aka device-firmware, see also rom tag-wiki, Where can I find stock or custom ROMs for my Android device?), and then flash it to your device (instructions are usually provided where the ROM is provided). |

Something wrong with my Samsung Galaxy Tablet 2 7.0 GT-P3100 Have you tried to remove the battery for about a minute, then re-inserting it and powering up the device? Also: Does anything happen at all when you try starting it (display flashing, led flashing, boot-logo, some noise (other than neighbor screaming)...)? |
