Then check on those who are able to join which channel they are using. And where the device is able to connect, check as well to see if there's an overlap (which would rule this out again).

That's a pity. A Nandroid backup might have been the easiest way to achieve this. You might investigate into ADB backup, though. But I'm pretty sure there's a more decent way, probably some enterprise software.

Maybe it's configured for a channel your device does not support? In certain areas, there are limitations concerning which channels are permitted by law; so there could be a kind of "enforcement" in action on your device.

Do you have root access to the devices, and a custom ROM installed (e.g. ClockworkMod or TWRP)?

comment Chrome disappears/hangs after reboot?
@DanHulme Agreed, and that's probably overlapping with my "getting stuck". "every so often" = "when it's needed" ≠ "every 24h". I doubt there's a definite time table ;) // user46097: You might wish to take a look at our app2sd tag-wiki, which also lists available alternatives concerning your app-move.

Or just remove the second part: A reboot is needed when a reboot is needed, not when the day changes. I reboot my devices only when something "got stuck", which doesn't happen more than once or twice a month usually. On some devices, even much less frequent.

comment android missed call notifications not going
You can edit your question yourself anytime, it's yours – so my apologies if you didn't want the image integrated, and no hard feelings if you revert this. Alternatively, you could also add a note there that it's something like this (and not exactly this). I'm pretty sure, even though not the exact same image, it helps people visualize the facts immediately – as opposed to reading the text multiple times and trying to imagine. So I would keep it, and optionally comment on it.

comment Android lost some apps - how do I dl Whatsapp again?
So you didn't use your GMail account to sign in, and payed using Paypal? For even one of the two, it cannot have been Google Play where you did that, as it required logging in with your GMail account long before the first version of WhatsApp became available. And they never accepted Paypal for payments. So you must have been in a different universe then.
