I like to make programs and devices smarter and easier to use. I experiment with new, brilliant interface concepts. I'm a programmer, designer, web developer, and a nice guy.
I like to take pictures. I enjoy good humor in others and the simple things in life, like thunderstorms. Music is a great companion. I seek after anything of good report which makes life more fulfilling.
I believe choices make us who are, and are a major part of how we and others feel.

My Nexus 4 says it's charging but it's actually discharging @TronicZomB That seems to work. Also, a few hours later, it seemed to have changed to the normal "discharging" status. |

What is this “wvm” file, and can I get rid of it? Quick update: I deleted the files in question with the File Transfer program. Of course it won't let me copy the DRM'ed file to my computer. Perhaps for another topic, I'd like to learn how to get the file off my device and onto my computer (for safe keeping). |

What is this “wvm” file, and can I get rid of it? Well, the Nexus 7 came with a free Transformers movie purchase. I downloaded it then I removed it when I was finished (I tapped the pin icon) a while ago. So just now I long-tapped the movie and touched "Remove from Device." It no longer appears in my Play Movies app. Yet now, and even before, "Settings" said the Movies app was taking only 6.12 MB. But the file transfer program still shows the same files there. And thanks for that link; I wonder how to extract it. (The movie isn't rented; it's purchased, and I prefer to liberate my data.) |

What is this “wvm” file, and can I get rid of it? Is WMV the same as WVM then? (And there's no videos that appear in the Play Movies & TV app. That's what I thought too, though.) |

How usable is the Android browser on “average” web sites? For the record (this question is old, I see) -- Chrome for Android is now available... |

Nexus 7 screen is flickering I've seen it across several apps including Chrome, Google Play, Currents, Google+, etc. I do think it happens when there's WiFi transmissions. It's pretty subtle. (Certainly not a deal-breaker.) |

How to manage Android's filesystem from a Mac? As an extension question: I am wondering if the Android File Transfer program works on rooted devices? I ask because if it does, then that's one possible answer to your question. |

Nexus 7 screen is flickering +1 Thanks for contributing this (even after I already accepted an answer, at least temporarily). Since the issue appears to be ongoing, perhaps we can keep this question updated until a more permanent solution is found. |

Nexus 7 screen is flickering It looks like it's a somewhat common issue, and it's really not even a big deal (I'm just picky about new toys) -- I still love the device. I'm going to accept this answer since turning off auto-brightness does seem to help considerably, esp. if I turn the brightness level up above 50%. |

Nexus 7 screen is flickering So, I notice the flickering extraordinarily less when the brightness is at least 50% with auto-brightness off. Do you think this is a software or hardware issue? (ie. Should I wait for an update or see about replacement?) |
