@1990clb - As you can see from my reply to izzy, I did do that while switching back to my original ROM.

@Izzy - Yes, it included a wipe of Dalvik and Cache for the switch from PA4.3-B2 to PA4.4-B1, up on return it included was a factory reset followed by flashing of PA4.3-B2 and Dalvik, Cache wipe.

@1990clb - Since it was just an update, I flashed it over the previous ROM. The return to the 4.3-BETA2 was also by flashing. I didn't restore a backup.

@John - Please give the question another read. I said "audio INPUT device" "something like a mic" not a mic but something like it.

comment Is it possible to isolate audio input/output devices?
@John - I don't want an actual mic. If I connect it to the audio jack of my laptop, I want the laptop's output.

@John - I'm not looking for code. Simply wondering if this is possible.

comment What would cause the existence of a /sdcard/logfile.log?
Have you tried opening up the log file to see what is in it? Log files usually contain tasks performed by an app, with that you can pinpoint the app. Why don't you paste the log file here?
