comment Transferring pdfs from computer to android
I think @Izzy left bluetooth out because not all computers are bluetooth-enabled (even though the usb bluetooth caps cost $2). But welcome to Android Enthusiasts.

I think this device is not the galaxy-s, but the galaxy-sl. if so the tagging should be adjusted. gsmarena.com/samsung_i9003_galaxy_sl-3761.php

comment How can I deny “android:keepScreenOn” to a misbehaving app?
I was daydreaming yesterday, I think what we need is an app called "No you Can't", that would deny everything to apps (subject to users allowing stuff on a per-app basis. Its icon would be that megamind poster. Seriously, users need more POWAAAAA

comment Google Search App Draining Battery on KitKat
I think I missed that, good to know. It is a mess because the app name is the same name as the API feature that google took down, and why can't apps write to SD card anymore, dammit google, stop taking down stuff and start to police your app shop more. And now I digressed by a mile.[

@MrPablo, I am sorry, my bad for making a huge confusion between keepScreenOn and wakeLock (they are related but two different things). greenify would've worked if it was just a wakelock problem, you are correct.

Thanks for the prompt answer Stephen. I will mess around with Xposed at last... (was skirting Xposed for a long time), but that douche app cannot continue to suck juice like that. (and I really love nobody slapbashed the "just stop using the app" - yet).

@MrPablo Does greenify work on the current active app?

I am not adding the Tasker tag, because any solution that solves the problem (given the OS version) is acceptable, and tagging it would make people think I want only a Tasker answer.

comment How to prevent Nexus 7 of charging the battery every time when connected to a USB?
Most of my devices' manuals set this extended period of time in full-charge to between a week to a month. I am pretty sure you can left the device plugged at full charge for several hours with no problem (all of us probably do that every night already).

@sameer with root greenify can auto-hibernate the apps without user interaction.

comment Google Play: Error downloading app - insufficient space
@Urbycoz If you can't install anything, that is stuff for another related question. I only had problems installing LARGE apps. Emulator and Busybox are tiny compared to today's apps. Also, someone could ask "What about non-rooted devices" and the answer would be the same: It is stuff for another Q&A.

comment Whatsapp: traveling with a pay-as-you-go SIM card
Tested it here with my devices, I switched SIMs and sent message to a regular contact (one I already had a conversation going with). The receiver had the new message from the same phone number from before. YMMV

comment Whatsapp: traveling with a pay-as-you-go SIM card
From what I've researched, WhatsApp asks if you want to switch numbers. Also I am not looking at the app source to see WHEN it checks your phone number. Just that it CAN do it because of its permissions.

Check the permissions for the APP: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp -- basically it can read the SIM and look up your own phone number. It uses the SMS to check if you are spoofing the phone number, but it always knows (and checks) every time you run it what is your phone number. And it uses almost all the nice permissions.

comment Battery goes down from 100% to like 80-75% so fast
I urge you to read this fine article: batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/battery_calibration and then calibrate your battery. If it continues, its a sign that your battery may need replacement. If its in warranty, take it to the manufacturer.
