comment Droid Explorer does not recognize Android Studio as a valid Android SDK during install.
ok, great. And I will look in to installing the Android Studio and see what is different about the SDK and see if I can add support for that in the future as well.

Ahhh, So I was not aware that the layout changed in SDK for 5. I will look in to what has changed and will make changes to support that. So, since that is the case, yes, currently, the latest SDK is not supported.

Why would you have to install an older version of the SDK? What I am saying is currently, Droid Explorer does not support the SDK that is installed with Android Studio, the only officially supported SDK is the Standalone install of the SDK. If you have an issue with 2 versions of the SDK, then you can have Android Studio use the SDK that is installed by the standalone installer.

I think i found some more information that may lead to me being able to fix this. I have added another question to the bug if someone could provide information, it would help.

comment Unable to browse device (Droid Explore)
I just saw the second part that you have the same issue with the device running CM11. This sounds more like something that I would consider a bug. If you could file the bug on the Issue Tracker. Sounds like the application is locking up for some reason. In the bug, please provide as much info as possible. OS, system specs (like memory, processor), android sdk version, phone info. Thanks. I am going to vote to close this, as I do not think there is any answer that would solve it, unless I can reproduce it.

Without investigation, I would suggest you make sure you have busybox installed on the device. It is a requirement for droid explorer to work correctly.

comment Unable to locate the android SDK tools, please reinstall the application
I would suggest looking at this question, uninstall, deleting the following registry locations: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DroidExplorer, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\DroidExplorer, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DroidExplorer, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\DroidExplorer, then reinstall. (I am the developer of Droid Explorer)

are you on a 64bit machine? if so take a look at HLKM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\DroidExplorer\InstallPath\. On 64bit, this node still resides in the 32bit hive.
