Corrected link - was a Google+ settings page, not the application specific passwords page.

comment Why does taking a screen shot require root access?
Thanks. I wonder if that means they intend to make it a standard OS feature in the near future.

comment Is the Nexus One battery charged when connected to a PC via USB?
Because without plugging in the external power adapter, the hub relied on the host PC's USB port for power. That port provides a max of 500ma. That 500ma of power must power the hub as well as being shared among the devices attached. That's fine for thumbdrives, but when the phone requests charging power -- Not enough juice available. The external power adapter allows the hub to supply 500ma on each port.

There may be ports that provide more than standard current, but I haven't encountered this because most USB charging devices will charge at 500ma or lower unless plugged into something they determine to not be a data port (usually because the data pins are shorted).

comment Why can't I use my iPhone Headphones with my HTC Thunderbolt?
That's understandable, but Apple is known for not following standards. Hard to fight that. If you want to use the i phones on a non i product - adapter. Or cut the cord and rewire. I haven't tried it myself, but it sounds like the Mic and Ground conductors are swapped between the Apple headphones and standard ones.

comment Are Android chargers universal in terms of power (Voltage, amperage)?
@Matthew - I've heard of that happening, though I've been lucky so far. I have a hunch that some of the cheaper ones are very poorly designed / built and either provide voltage way out of spec or leak high voltage transients to the output.
