@Stefan - Bingo, you've got it.

The charger can't provide more amperage than the phone draws. As long as the voltage is OK (for instance, 5V for a USB-based charger) the phone will draw as much as it needs or as much as the charger can provide, whatever limit it reaches first.

comment When should I start charging my Lithium battery?
No worries about unplugging early - If you can only squeeze in a few percent charge before moving on it's still beneficial and has no downsides.

Al Everett's linked question has an excellent answer - very detailed explanation of modern lithium battery care.

I haven't seen that in a digicam in awhile - just NiMH. Shouldn't surprise me for the cheaper ones though. I do remember pulling apart a Black & Decker flashlight recently too that had some NiCads. They died on the shelf, it was DOA. There's a reason we have newer tech these days. :)

Exactly - charge whenever you have an opportunity. The only time you're likely to run into a NiCad (last tech that had significant memory effect) is in cheaper cordless power tools.

comment How are the Android Market ratings (stars) calculated?
Keep in mind, too, the human nature of not speaking up about good experiences. We tend to be much more outspoken when things are not going well. :) I tend to take individual poor ratings with a grain of salt and look at the overall score myself.

comment How can I take a photo when battery <20%?
That was only applicable to older chemistries such as NiCad, because they developed a "memory" of the discharge depth - repeatedly recharging before full discharge would decrease the storage capacity. Modern lithium ion cells do not have this memory affect. They loose capacity based on age, temperature (excessive heat impacts life) and time spent at very low charge levels.

comment How do I stop apps from installing themselves to my SD-card?
The only other method I've seen involved ADB commands on a rooted phone. I will say just once that root isn't something to fear and can open up lots of other capabilities on your device. Still up to you ultimately and I'll keep my eyes peeled for other solutions.

comment Is there a Word Lens alternative/port for Android?
Not an answer, just a comment - my coworker promptly downloaded the app on his iPhone4 and we started experimenting -- The OCR was very slow and unreliable and the text overlay was glaringly obvious when it was occasionally in the correct spot -- often it was randomly placed halfway across the viewfinder. In other words -- Don't fall in love with that demo just yet, it was clearly idealized. :) I found that Google Goggles, while not realtime, was far more accurate at OCR in our handful of informal tests this afternoon.
