comment Google maps road names too small. Solutions?
I am sorry but you are wrong. The latest version of Google Maps (7.7.0) does not use tile-images only. The street names in my version move while zooming which indicates that they are not part of the map image.

If you have root access you can change the dm-crypt password without changing you unlock pin/password.

Are you aware that the encryption password is also your unlock password? Therefore you have to enter it every time your phone is locked. Bad design by Google IMHO.

Before considering a "re-install": have you performed a factory reset?

Have you installed the Motorola Devicemanager (for the USB driver)? Also make sure the device unlocked and screen is on. My Moto G is displayed correctly in Eclipse on Windows 7.

comment USB charge in android 4.2.2
@RossC That is written in the USB standard. Before the device is initialized the maximum power the device is allowed to use is limited to 100mA. Only when a charger is detected it can use as much power as it can get.

Have you installed the USB drivers for your phone? Without the phone can only retrieve 100 mA => 0.5 Watt.

comment Passwords containing “!” are always wrong
Have you checked which char is sent to the server instead of the exclamation mark? Enter "!" at base64encode.org and look at the base64 encoded result. If it is correct "IQ==" should be the result.
