I don't quite understand two statements: "compilation takes up around x GB" and "including Google Apps". I can understand that the source code would be bound to be one or two orders of magnitude greater than the compiled binaries, but what do you mean by "compilation takes up around x GB"? Do you mean that the total space required to compile Android takes up x gigabytes on the host environment? And by "storage space weighs around 95Mb, give or take, including Google Apps, source code 6.5GB" do you mean Google Apps + Gingerbread = ~95MB, or Google Apps + source = ~6.5GB?
