I am a mathematician, tutor and programmer.
My brother, who works for Google, introduced me into Android programming. I had no problems with Java because it is pretty much identical to C, which I learned at the university. I found it a bit daunting in the beginning, comparing it to TCL/TK.
I have no books on Android programming but am finding plenty of useful resources on the internet.
