Ask it "Who is the President of the United States?". It seems to talk back to everyone for that one.

comment Disable the default browser in ICS
Shouldn't an app request whichever browser the user has set to default, though, rather than asking for a specific app in which to launch the link?

(1) What version of Android are you running? (2) If you're on an ICS build do you have Chrome installed?

comment Auto focus not working on Galaxy Nexus
Yeah, my GN is on 4.0.2 (build ICL53F) as well. I'm kinda stumped here, man. I can't think of any reason why your camera's AF shouldn't be working aside from some kind of bad interaction between it and some app you've installed lately. Have you taken inventory of your apps and tried removing them one at a time if you think they're suspect to test the AF?

The 4.0.5 comes from Google, not Verizon, so there won't be any additional carrier customization. Still, Google considers 4.0.3 to be "base" ICS. What version are you running?

Well that's progress at least. Are you on Verizon? I ask because there's a rumor circulating on the tubes that Verizon's Galaxy Nexuses are going to get an update to 4.0.5 some time in April. With any luck this will correct your problem if you can't figure it out before then.

comment Why does my Android device generate more heat on an AC charger?
@Power-Inside: Well, I think it depends on the actual construction of the battery in question. Car batteries, for instance, die a lot faster in constant heat. I also think the length of exposure to heat is an important variable in how it will affect a battery's life, but if you just want to play it safe then go ahead and use the slower, cooler charging method.

comment Why does my Android device generate more heat on an AC charger?
@Power-Inside: Don't think so. What's bad for a battery is over charging, so don't leave your phone plugged in all the time and you'll be fine.

Indeed, I know that USB 2.0 standard is to provide 500mA.

comment What does it mean when the connectivity icons in the status bar go white/gray?
I have a Droid running CM7 also and I thought this was just a rendering glitch in the themes. I'm glad to know this is actually meant to indicate something useful.

comment Need a car-friendly way to listen to music?
@Pitto - I dunno, I don't use a BT headset so I've obviously never tried it. As Chance said in his comment they offer a 15-day free trial, so you've really got nothing to lose by giving it a shot.

comment Why does taking a screen shot require root access?
I'm marking this as the answer since it pretty clearly indicates (at least to me) that the only reason we needed root before 2.3.3 is because there was no system app designed to do it for us.
